Non-Linear Navigation
We've all seen it and maybe even done it.You're in the middle of your presentation and someone has a great question. You respond in one of these three ways:
  1. I'll take questions at the end
  2. I'll get to that later
  3. Let me try to find that slide (and you promtly escape from your slide show or hit page up/down frantically)
All of these responses have one thing in common, they are not customer centric and they cause your audience to feel disengaged.
ActivePresentation Designer - Ribbon - Menu Bar Designer
ActivePresentation Designer : Ribbon Menu Bar Designer group
That's where the Menu Bar Designer comes in.
Adding a multi-levelled hierarchical menu bar (navigation strip) to your slides gives you the freedom and flexibility to go to any slide in your presentation in a matter of one or two clicks.  You can now take that question as it arrises by quickly getting to the section of your presentation in question and then coming back with the minimal of fuss. This is how we navigate content on web sites so why are you still allowing yourself to be constrained to serial presenting which is a throw back to the years of accetate slides?
Benefits
Non-linear presenting and the Menu Bar Designer bring powerful interactive control to your content:
  • Adapt your presentation to your audience needs, on-the-fly.
  • Never say "I'll take questions at the end" again or "I'll get to that later".
  • React to your audience as they react to you.
  • Keep the attention of your audience for longer.
  • Manage your presentation time and never rush your slides again to get to your key message at the end.

Popups
We've all seen it and maybe even done it.
Too much stuff on one slide!
While the simplest way to avoid this trap is to distill down your text or make several slides, sometimes you may actually want all the information on one slide but not want to show it all at once.  Non linear presenting gives you this flexibility.
ActivePresentation Designer - Ribbon - Popups
ActivePresentation Designer : ribbon Popup group
That's where Popups come in.
Popups let you link pairs of objects on your slide. The first is the trigger and the second is the Popup. During the slide show, clicking on the trigger will show/hide the popup. That's a pretty simple idea but it's also very powerful. You can create incredibly clean slides with lots of hidden information that is displayed only when you decide to show it.
Take the video below for example. It’s a single slide with 5 buttons which popup 5 photos as and when you choose to display them. This is a very user friendly function and this slide was created in under a minute using the popup feature. The result is a dynamic show of 5 items which can be displayed in the order chosen by the presenter. We have used photos to demonstrate this feature however it could be shapes, text, tables or whatever you wish.
Benefits
Popups bring simple yet powerful control to your content:
  • Present content in a non-linear fashion.
  • Show and hide content on your slide in whatever order you want.
  • Great for e-learning, interactive quizzes or unmanned kiosk displays.
  • Create trigger/Popup relationships in just 5 clicks.
  • Hide the Popup automatically after the link is created.
  • Show/hide all Popups across a presentation with 1 click.
  • Assign mouse over and mouse click sounds to all Popups in a presentation in just 4 clicks.
  • Set all Popups across the entire presentation to be hidden automatically when the slide show starts.

Slide Confidentiality & Export Wizard
Have you ever been asked to create multiple versions of the same presentation for different people requiring different subsets of the full deck?
Do you want to protect certain slides from being distributed?
When you create a non-linear PowerPoint presentation, you may need to deliver the slides that were shown, and only those that were shown, to your audience.
ActivePresentation Designer - Ribbon - Popups
ActivePresentation Designer : ribbon Slide Confidentiality group
That's where Slide Confidentiality and the Export Wizard come in.
Set confidentiality levels for each slide to control access to your intellectual property.
Each slide may be assigned one of 3 levels; low, medium, high.  In conjunction with the Export Wizard, presentations may be delivered to audiences with highliy confidential slides automatically imitted.  This provides you with peace of mind that presenters only deliver what they are supposed to but can also talk about more confidential topics whilst not delivering the information electronically or otherwise.

Confidentiality System
Record what you present and send what you record to your client, securely, with the Export Wizard
During the presentation, the exact set of slides presented is recorded by the ActivePresentation Export Wizard. On completion of the presentation, the presenter can create a customised copy, only of the slides he/she showed, for the client.  Slide Confidentiality prevents the distribution of sensitive slides and the exported PowerPoint file is password protected with the client company name.

Export Wizard
Benefits
Slide Confidentiality bring simple yet powerful security to your content:
  • Protect your Intellectual Property.
  • Create subsets of your main deck on-the-fly, based on the slides you actually presented.
  • Deliver your custom presentation at the meeting instead of promising to send it later.
